Pukenui School – Attendance: Every Day Matters
At Pukenui School, we celebrate our tamariki coming to school every day. When children attend regularly, they learn more, feel confident, make friends, and enjoy their school day.
Our expectations:
Children come to school every day.
Children arrive on time and ready to learn.
Whānau let us know if their child is away by phoning the office or recording the absence on HERO.
We understand there are genuine reasons for being away. But when children are at school most days, they make great progress and feel proud of themselves.
If your child is away for three or more days, please provide a medical certificate.
If we do not receive a reason, your child will be marked Truant.
Our Attendance Celebrations
We love celebrating great attendance!
Children with strong attendance can earn special individual awards.
Classes who achieve 100% attendance receive fun rewards and positive recognition.
These awards show how proud we are of our tamariki and the effort they make to be at school every day.
Working Together
If your child is away often, we will support you:
First, your child’s teacher will make contact.
If there is still concern, a hui will be held with the team leader.
If attendance does not improve, it will be passed on to the Principal.
If you need help getting your child to school, please talk to us at any time. We are here to work alongside you and your whānau.
At Pukenui School, every day matters – and every child matters.
🎉 Congratulations! 🎉
